Hailing from Mason, OH, Dr. DuVal’s journey into veterinary medicine was shaped by her childhood desire to work with animals, despite her parents not being avid pet enthusiasts.

Initially captivated by psychology in high school, Dr. DuVal embarked on her undergraduate studies at Xavier University as a psychology major. However, a profound interest in the intricacies of the body and a rekindled childhood dream led her to double major in biology, laying the foundation for her veterinary career.

With unwavering dedication, Dr. DuVal earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Biology from Xavier University. She furthered her education at the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she proudly earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.

Dr. Kristen DuVal brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to pet care. She is Fear Free certified, prioritizing the reduction of stress and anxiety in her furry patients. As a committed member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), Dr. DuVal upholds the highest standards of veterinary care.

In Hospital

Dr. DuVal holds a keen interest in internal medicine, pain management, rehabilitation, and ultrasound. Her expertise spans both canines and felines, making her a versatile and well-rounded addition to the Hunter PetCare team.

In her leisure time, Dr. DuVal indulges in her passion for cooking and baking, often using home-grown veggies and fruits from her garden. A budding gardener, she finds joy in cultivating her own produce. Additionally, Dr. DuVal stays active by participating in agility training with her dog Bonnie, and she enjoys activities like running and hiking.

After Hours

Beyond her professional life, Dr. DuVal is a devoted wife to Darren and a loving mother to her six-month-old daughter, Madeleine. At home, she shares her life with a delightful array of pets, including two dogs named Hank and Bonnie, two cats named Archer and Krieger, and a majestic horse named Samson.
